Interests and specialisms in river science: stream restoration, technology transfer
Dr. Castro holds a joint position with the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service and the National Marine Fisheries Service that covers all aspects of fluvial geomorphology, including stream restoration, sediment dynamics, channel design, energy management, and channel evolution. She also serves as the Technical Director of the Portland State University, River Restoration Professional Certificate Program, is a primary instructor for the NMFS River Restoration Assessment Tools, and is the current President of River Restoration Northwest.
